James playing ball hockey

James' end of season hockey party

James coach sent a lovely email to the team after the party

Well team… our season has come and left quicker than I had hoped for. Personally I could not have asked for a better group of kids with great parents to match. I’ve had the opportunity to see James go from never having had skates on to blazing up and down the ice. Aidan went from a timid, shy, quiet little boy to an aggressive puck charger with a smile that’s hard not to notice. I experienced Jack, who agreed to go on the ice as long as he had the security of my hand, develop into an independent, confident young hockey player. I saw our red squad Cameron, Alec, Ethan, Luca, Brody, Matteo, Kieran and Dylan show our opponents what stick handling, shooting and scoring was all about. Our blue squad Connor, Ben, Jacob, James, Nolan, Karter, Jack, Jason and Aidan were the image of determination and fulfillment.

I have to thank my assistant coaches Brian F., Ray, Dene, Peter, Brian S. and Jeff because without their help it would have been complete chaos.

Heather has been an unbelievable help when it came to coordinating and executing our event days. She also did an amazing job taking the photographs which made a keepsake I’m sure we will all have for many years to come.

So team... I would like to thank everyone for giving me the chance to share in a small part of your children’s lives, which without a doubt, gave me the opportunity for fulfillment.

Hope to see as many of you as possible next year,

Coach Armando

Gingerbread cookies

James is studying gingerbread cookies this term so he asked if we could do a project together. I don't think any of them will run away, but they may disappear pretty fast.
Here's the recipe I found online - I loved it. http://www.readersdigest.ca/christmas/recipes_party/kids_cookie_party/easy_gingerbread_cookies.html
