We had a pretty full weekend.
On Friday, Sherri’s mom watched the kids, and Sherri & I went out on a date. We went to Viet Royal on Grande Allee in Greenfield Park for supper. After supper, we tried our luck at the Casino. We played the quarter slots for about a half hour, and then I’d had enough sitting. [We didn’t win big…lost $2 :( ] After leaving the casino, we went to Old Montreal to pick-up some Beaver Tails. We didn’t find parking so we ate them in the van, and went to the lookout on Mont-Royal. It was between 9:30 – 10:00 and just the time when the raccoons were coming out. We watched the raccoons, and took some pictures before heading home.
On Saturday it looked a little grey, but we decided to venture out to the church picnic in St-Bruno, and it turned out to be a very nice day. We placed some soccer, caught some bull frogs, and a nice lunch near the pond. In the afternoon, we went over to Neil & Karen’s place. The kids & I swam, and Sherri & Karen chatted. Neil was out at soccer with Amy. In the evening, I took the kids to St-Lambert to watch the first night of fireworks from La Ronde.
On Sunday, the family gave me a 3 person inflatable dingy for father’s day. We went to church in the morning, and when we came home, Sherri suggested trying out the dingy so we drove to Brome Lake. We spent a few hours at the Public Beach, swimming, and paddling along the shore. After we left the beach, we visited Sherri’s cousin Joan. The kids enjoyed feeding hay to her horses, and looking at her goats. On the way home, we stopped at a spot to fish, and the kids played in the water some more. We stopped in Rouville for supper, before collapsing back at home.
