Field Trip to St. Bruno

On Friday, Morgan's class went on a field trip to St. Bruno. There we met a naturalist who helped the kids to catch all kinds of interesting creatures and then told us all about what they had found. I was one of the lucky moms who was allowed to tag along.

Here are Morgan and his best friend Katie on the bus to St. Bruno.

This is Morgan helping Danielle, the naturalist, to explain all about bullfrogs, an area where he is an expert!

Morgan and Katie hunting for creatures in the pond.

Here is a shot of all the kids hunting in the pond.

And here are some of the things we found:

A green frog

This is an almost mature dragonfly nymph. The long thing is it's bottom lip that it uses to catch its food.

And this is a crayfish.

It was a fun day. It rained a little at lunch time, but the weather held out while we were at the pond and taking a walk in in the forest. Morgan had a very good time. I think he enjoyed being an expert!
