Strawberry Picking at Springridge Farm Today

One of the boys asked if we could go strawberry picking this weekend so we got up early, had pancakes for breakfast and headed out. James was excited to show us the way. Steven was particular and picked only the choicest berries, so we'll save them for chocolate fondue. The rest of us did great too and in no time had a huge pile of berries (about $29 worth at 1.85/lb.!!) so we didn't stay out very long.
Earlier in the week James & I picked small berries in the front fields, but today there was a tractor ride to and from the back fields with the larger berries.
The boys climbed the hay bales and James led everyone through the mazes
Then he got to go on a pony ride.
The boys took a turn on the "pretend" cow milking station and then we headed home around 11:30 for lunch. Once home everyone made plans about what to do with the strawberries as Danny & I hulled them and then made some jam and strawberry cobbler and shortcake.
