Deck the Halls

This past weekend, we put up our tree and decorations.

Every year I give the kids an ornament, which they are allowed to unwrap when we put up the tree.

I try and pick something that reflects on the personality over the past year.

Here is Jarad, excited to open a gift!

For Jarad, I chose a BUZZ LIGHTYEAR from the movie Toy Story. There may still be some people out there who don't realize that Jarad is Very Fond of all things Buzz, so I thought this suited him just fine!

Morgan received a frog on a candy cane. One of Morgan's favorite things is to go frog hunting. This past summer, in Algonquin, we would drive along the road at night and catch frogs, toads, snakes and the occasional rock that crossed our path. Morgan LOVED doing this. He was also the frog expert at his field trip last spring, so a frog for Morgan it was.

For the lovely Miss Ariel, I chose a grey kitten playing with a ball of yarn. Ariel loves her real Kitty and is becoming somewhat of a cat lover in general. The fact that the kitty on the ornament was chewing the ball of yarn also reminded me of our real Kitty since that is certainly something he would do.

Afterwards, we spent more of the afternoon putting the stuff on the tree.
