This past weekend Melanie threw herself a big going away pool party with 30 of her closest friends from High School, Cegep and work. On Sunday we drove her up to Ryerson University in downtown Toronto across from the Eaton Center. She will be staying in the Pitman Hall residency for at least the first year. Here are a few pictures Melanie took after she got her stuff unpacked. The walls and carpet are pretty beaten but I think she will survive. She has a single room but will have to share bathroom(s), the kitchen and a common room with others on the floor. The first week is packed with activities to help her get acquainted with Toronto and her new floor mates before classes start next week. Her proud parents wish her well!

If Melanie gets homesick for family, I don't think we're far by Go Train.
Good luck Melanie!!
I saw a show with tips for university students in residence and they mentioned that the rugs can be pretty yucky in some rooms and they suggested that you buy an inexpensive throw rug to cover it up and brighten up the room.
MY goodness, university already. I remember a little girl holding the hem of my wedding dress and dancing around behind me. No so little anymore.

Hope you have a great year !

Congratulations on your next big step in life. Robyn will be working downtown Toronto until Sept. 7th. We just moved her back home tonight. She will be taking the greyhound to and from work each day. Melanie you are always welcome to come visit if you need a break from the partying at rez.
