Sudden Hail Storm

Steven and his friends were biking home from school this afternoon when the skies suddenly got dark and there was thunder in the distance then the hail just pelted down. I jumped in the van to search for them, but it was so bad I could barely see past the windshield. I passed some other kids on bikes looking for shelter and tried to call to them but they couldn't hear. Just as suddenly as it hit, the sun came out and it stopped. I picked up James at his school and had left the door open, so met up with Steven and his friend Tim back at the house. They were pretty wet and feeling a little battered from the golf ball size hail. James thought it had been raining popcorn.
