Birds in Algonquin

Not only did we see lots of interesting mammals and reptiles during our stay, but there were tons and tons of birds. Here are a few we managed to capture on film.

A Great Blue Heron looking for his lunch.

A mom and baby duck out for a swim.

A cheeky little grackle trying to steal our peanuts.

This is a different duck for the ones we usually see since it has a reddish head. I think it is a wood duck.

Here is a little Grey Jay (or Whiskey Jack)sitting on the electrical wires.

And this fellow is a lovely red tailed hawk who was getting tired of us looking at him and snapping pictures so he is getting ready to leave us.

We saw waxwings, hawks, turkey vultures and all other sort but heard probably hundreds more every morning singing as the sun came up. Better than a Mozart concert (no offence to Mozart lovers!).
